EZ Anchors are used to secure objects to surfaces such as drywall or sheetrock, and are among the most popular types of self-drilling anchors. These light to medium-duty anchors are commonly used to hang thermostats and other devices on the wall. Also, these anchors are commonly utilized by do-it-yourself (DIY) enthusiasts in hanging pictures, artworks, mirrors, and shelving, because they offer a high pull out and strength for heavy-weighed objects.

Unless the drywall is very dense, there is no pre-drilling required because each anchor has a special drilling tip that is able to create a very precise hole for the anchor thread to cut into perfectly. Take note; however, that while these anchors increase the wallâ€™s capacity to hold weight, EZ Anchors come with weight limitations. These limitations are based on the material and size of the anchor, so it is important to know which type of anchor is suitable for the project before starting. EZ Anchor Installation Tips:

Using a screwdriver or any similar tool, press the anchor tip lightly into the drywall. Do not hammer down the anchor as this will rupture the drywall below the surface which will eventually lower the load performance of the EZ Anchor. With pressure, turn the anchor until its head touches the surface, be careful not to over tighten.
For denser walls or those that have been heavily painted, you may pre-drill a 1/8 inch pilot hole from which the anchor could cut clean without tearing or breaking the drywall surface.
Ensure that the anchor head is on the same level as the surface to prevent mounted items from shaking, wobbling or becoming unstable.
