Elevator Bolts

Elevator Bolts are similar to a carriage bolt, but instead of a round head, these come with a flat top and a partial thread. This is commonly machine threaded for use with a nut. These are used for several big or small construction projects. However, Elevator Bolts are not to be used for just any task, because using these in a wrong application could do damage to your project.

You would commonly see Elevator Bolts holding together canvass belts in grain elevators and other conveyer systems, and also used in tap drilling and clearance holes. The flat head’s larger diameter, together with its square neck, allows for greater bearing surface to keep the bolt from going through the soft conveyer material. Non-coated bolts are not suited for outdoor applications because these are prone to rusting.
